Agree on the method before the reward

Fairness is a table agreement. Ask whether the group wants equal coin shares, a common fund, or reimbursement for shared expenses. Agree on how useful items are assigned before someone needs the item.

Seventeen gold pieces and a silver compass

Three adventurers agree to take five gold pieces each and leave two in the party fund. They lend the compass to the navigator, while recording that it belongs to the party. The compass has no invented mechanical benefit in this example.

For contested items, try discussing who can use them now, then rotating first choice over several rewards. Record the agreement so a quiet player does not have to renegotiate it every session.

Use the shared chest

  1. Open your Party Lobby and find Party loot. This shared chest is different from the private Group bag on a character sheet.
  2. The owning DM can record an adjudicated reward with DM controls enabled. Players can deposit their own linked character’s items or coins. Review any movement before confirming it.
  3. The owning DM uses Distribute party rewards and selects the intended recipients. Enter the coins to divide and leave XP at zero for a coins-only split. Review each share and the remainder before committing.
  4. Each assigned player reviews their reservation and checks the review confirmation and chooses Confirm movement. For an item, choose its destination bag. Check the character’s inventory or currency afterward.

Read the preview before accepting

NAT420 divides each denomination into whole coins independently. Seventeen gold pieces split among three characters reserve five each, with two left in the chest. The tool does not automatically exchange one denomination for another.

A reservation is not an immediate award to the character. The recipient must accept the reviewed movement. If you want leftovers to fund party expenses, record that agreement; the chest cannot infer your social rules.

A completed combat does not automatically create loot. Record only rewards your DM has actually granted, and check for an existing entry before adding the same reward again.

For the rest of the DM’s wrap-up, return to the session checklist’s rewards and recap stage. It connects the agreed payout with the session record and next preparation tasks.
